Here are the components that make up a system capable of adjusting depth in 5mm increments by printing additional spacers, which stack neatly to ensure a precise fit. I've employed three different depths to accommodate the diverse array of pot lids I wished to store. Obviously, hooks can be incorporated; it could serve as a towel rack or any other application you have in mind. In this particular case, I capitalized on some previously unused space. The metal bar used is an off-the-shelf product designed for conduit but found at a hardware store; however, many other options would likely suffice.
