Postlight4

Postlight4

pinshape

This is the third design in the Postlight series, and it's a significant departure from #1, which was more of a test run than an actual published piece. The current design bears some resemblance to https://pinshape.com/items/61020-3d-printed-postlight3, but with a distinct shape and fewer, larger ribs that allow for more spacious areas between them. The top is a dual-color affair due to my miscalculation of the remaining yellow filament on the reel, a mistake that will be rectified in Postlight5, which promises to return to solid colors. Postlight4 required an impressive 25 hours to print, with a speed of 90 mm/sec and a layer height of 0.200 mm. This design is purpose-built to hold one of several LED lights known as "puck" lights, which can be powered by either batteries or wall power. For those looking for reliable wall-powered options, this blog page has some excellent recommendations: http://birkbinnard.com/blog/wall-powered-led-lights/.
