Post Cap Solar Light Mount

Post Cap Solar Light Mount

I have a 4-inch hollow square metal mailbox mount that's been out of commission for a while due to a lost cap for the main beam. Usually, I place a solar light there, and sometimes a piece of pool noodle inside the hole to keep it straight. With my recent decision to replace the mailbox with an even larger one and my desire to give it a more polished look, I decided to design a simple post cap that would be tall enough to clear the new mailbox and have a receptacle for a solar light. Now, all I need to do is drop in a light, and I'm done – it looks fantastic. Printed upside down with no supports needed, my model came out beautifully. Although mine got knocked off during the second solid top layer while printing, since that part is inside the post, it's not a concern. I printed this on my CR-10 using Push Plastic Bronze PLA, and I must say, it's a fantastic material – very nice indeed!
