Poseidon, the mighty god, ruled over ancient Greek seas as a chief deity in the Olympian pantheon. As god of the oceans, he wielded immense power, protecting seafarers and their ships with unwavering dedication. Many Hellenic cities revered him as a patron, acknowledging his authority and wisdom. In Homer's Iliad, Poseidon fought bravely alongside the Greeks during the epic battle of Troy.
