Pavel Yulievich Suzor was a renowned Russian architect who also held the prestigious title of count. Born in 1844, Suzor would go on to achieve great success throughout his life. The architect graduated from the esteemed Saint Petersburg Imperial Academy of Arts in 1866 and began his professional journey shortly thereafter. In 1873, he joined the city council, bringing his exceptional skills to the table. As his career continued to flourish, Suzor took on a new challenge in 1883 when he started teaching at the respected Saint Petersburg Institute of Civil Engineering. Suzor's architectural style was characterized by the incorporation of Eclecticism and Art Nouveau elements in his designs. In 1903, he became chairman and president of the Architects Society, solidifying his position as a leading figure in the field. Just six years later, Suzor co-founded the Museum of Old Saint Petersburg, which was conveniently located at his own residence.
