Portrait of King Antiochus IV Epiphanes
myminifactory
Acquired in 1975 Marble circa 175 BC The ruler's headband on his short hair and the remarkably defined facial features that match those of a Seleucid king on coins clearly indicate this is a depiction of Antiochus IV of Syria, who ruled from 175 to 164 BC. The smaller-than-life-size head was designed for inclusion in a larger statue. This item is part of "Scan The World," a non-profit project initiated by MyMiniFactory.
