Portrait of Isotta di Rimini (?)

Portrait of Isotta di Rimini (?)

myminifactory

When compared with another bust from Lelli Foundry's Picture Catalog, No.516, KAS 820, the similarities are so starkly obvious that they appear to depict the same person, Isotta di Rimini, wife of St. Malatesta. Despite this, definitive identification remains impossible. Isotta degli Atti was an Italian Renaissance woman born in late 1432 or 1433 who became the mistress and later wife of the condottiero and lord of Rimini, Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta. The original bust is housed in Camposanto, cataloged as ORIG2445.
