Portrait of Caracalla

myminifactory

Portrait of Caracalla, Type 1 (196 / 197-204), Rome probably created in marble. Musée de Cinquantenaire holds this piece in Brussels, Belgium. The portrait was crafted using ReMake and ReCap Pro from Autodesk. Emperor Septimius Severus commissioned the artwork for his eldest son Caracalla when he claimed lineage to Marcus Aurelius, making him the last legitimate heir of the Antonine dynasty. The young prince's hairstyle closely mimics that of the little princes from the Antonine family. For more information, visit my Twitter page at @GeoffreyMarchal.
