Portrait of Bernardo Giugni at The British Museum, London
myminifactory
This bust bears a striking resemblance to the one on Giugni's tomb in the Badia, Florence. Despite this likeness, its purpose remains unclear. The format of this bust, with Bernardo's robust profile prominently displayed, was likely intended to evoke Roman leaders and complement the classical style of the tomb. As a diplomat, knight, and prominent figure in Florence, Giugni would have been well-versed in the art of making an impression. This object is part of "Scan The World", a non-profit initiative launched by MyMiniFactory.
