Portrait of Imperial Civil Servant from Ancient Asia Minor, circa 400 BC, Caria, Aphrodisias. Located at the Cinquenaire Museum in Brussels, Belgium. Using advanced photogrammetry and Memento Beta software, a highly detailed 3D scan was created. The resulting model underwent meticulous cleaning and optimization using Netfabb and Blender tools. Originally, this portrait formed the head of a statue depicting a dignified man draped in a chlamys, an ancient Greek garment characterized by its short length. As the head of a statue representing a regional governor of Caria, it showcases the cultural and administrative sophistication of that era. The pedestal upon which the statue stood bore an inscription detailing the subject's credentials. Translated from ancient Greek, this text reads: "Christ, born of Mary, my God, save me." This remarkable artifact is part of "Scan The World," a pioneering non-profit initiative launched by MyMiniFactory. This innovative project involves creating a vast digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from around the globe, freely accessible to the public.
