Portrait of Alexander
myminifactory
This head is believed to represent Alexander, possibly linked to a collection of cult statues of Alexander's family. Alexander III of Macedon (20/21 July 356 BC – 10/11 June 323 BC), commonly known as Alexander the Great, was an ancient Greek king and leader from the Argead dynasty who ruled over the kingdom of Macedon. Born in Pella around 356 BC, he took the throne at twenty years old after his father Philip II. He spent most of his reign on a massive military campaign through Asia and northeast Africa, creating one of the largest empires in ancient history by thirty years old, spanning from Greece to northwestern India. Unbeaten in battle, Alexander is widely regarded as one of the greatest military leaders in all of history.
