The Portland Trail Blazers are a professional basketball squad based in Portland, Oregon. They participate in the Northwest Division of the Western Conference within the National Basketball Association (NBA). Prior to moving into their current home, the team played its games at the Memorial Coliseum before relocating to the Moda Center in 1995, previously known as the Rose Garden until 2013. Established in 1970, Portland has remained the franchise's sole home city throughout its history. The Trail Blazers have enjoyed a loyal fan base; from 1977 through 1995, the team consistently sold out every single one of its home games, achieving an unprecedented streak of 814 consecutive sellouts, a record that stands unbroken in American major professional sports to this day. As of now, the Trail Blazers remain the only NBA team based in the Pacific Northwest region, following the relocation of the Vancouver Grizzlies to Memphis and their rebranding as the Memphis Grizzlies in 2001, and the Seattle SuperSonics' move to Oklahoma City and subsequent rebranding as the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2008.
