Portland Plotter Case
thingiverse
I adore my Portland Plotter, but its size is a major inconvenience when it comes to storing it with my other sailing navigation equipment. To mitigate this issue, I use a protective case that allows me to safely transport it in my regular sailbag, rather than having it exposed alongside charts and dividers. I printed the case out of PETG, which has held up remarkably well so far. However, I must emphasize that even with proper care, the case is still vulnerable to damage if subjected to heavy impacts in sensitive areas. The latch on the lid provides a reassuring amount of resistance, but it's crucial to keep the lid securely closed to prevent it from breaking off. The case you see in the photos bears my name, although the original STL files do not include any personalized details. If you'd like to add your own monogram or make any adjustments to the design, you can easily edit the constants at the top of the OpenSCAD file or modify the dimensions to suit your preferences.
