Portioning Funnel
thingiverse
This experimental portioning funnel serves multiple purposes: it can accurately measure pancake, biscuit, or meringue batter quantities. The design concept relies on a precise and repeatable quantity being dispensed each time the piston rises and falls. However, I'm uncertain about the actual volume produced by this model. During initial prototype testing in ABS, my feed tube detached from the extruder, causing the entire printer case to be filled with filament. Upon canceling the print job, the head moved back into its resting position but got snagged in the mess, rattling the steppers loudly. The piston is designed to be removable for cleaning purposes, yet it prevents the funnel from being left open or falling out during use once turned. This theoretical advantage holds true, at least in concept. If anyone wishes to attempt printing this design, I'd appreciate seeing pictures of the resulting pancakes, cookies, or other treats made with this portioning funnel. Additionally, please share your findings on the approximate quantity dispensed by each piston pump. My goal is to achieve a diameter of about one inch for "silver dollar" pancake-sized portions.
