Portico d' Ottavia, Roma
sketchfab
The ancient portico of Ottavia, situated above the Circo Flaminio - an area that once served as the city's historic ghetto - was meticulously rebuilt by Augustus himself, replacing the original Metello portico between 27 and 23 BC. The new structure was subsequently dedicated in honor of his sister Octavia. Following a devastating fire in 191 AD, Emperor Septimius Severus undertook a comprehensive restoration project in 203 AD, leaving behind most of the visible remains that can be seen today.
