To attach a label to a file, open the hinge of the clip towards the top. For a 5.5cm wide label, the rear notch prevents it from slipping outwards. The version 1 clip has a longer post, while version 2 is shorter. I used an IKEA furniture, with a thickness of 1.65 cm for this purpose.
