Porte biaise, Pézenas (34)
sketchfab
The Porte de la Juiverie gets its name from the proximity of the Pézenas ghetto which dated back to 1313. The gate features a classical intercolumnar space with columns, frieze, and cornice. The frieze is made up of sculpted metopes and triglyphs. The ovoid columns are accompanied by a frieze installed in a parallelogram shape, possibly to create a more impressive perspective in a restricted space since the old entrance, whose arch is still visible, does not seem to have been skewed.
