Portal Schloss Dürnkrut
sketchfab
Castle Durnkrut was constructed by the Lords of Landau. In 1622, Rudolf von Teuffenbach secured the castle and commissioned an early baroque chapel. By 1696, the Scottish nobleman Jakob von Hamilton had acquired the castle and remodeled it in a stunning baroque style. Following the extinction of the Hamiltons, Count Franz Joseph Kohary purchased the castle in 1778. Due to his daughter Maria Antonia's marriage to Ferdinand Georg von Sachsen-Coburg, the castle fell under the house Sachsen-Coburg-Kohary, which transformed the tower with historical significance. In 1985, the market town of Durnkrut acquired the castle and established certain areas as a municipal office. The 3D model displays the entrance area. The gate is dominated by a balcony supported by two atlantes. Above the gate, the coat of arms of the Hamilton family proudly stands.
