The backlighted screen is a critical component of the radio prop. A layer of white paint reflects light, while a layer of black provides a base coat. Acrylic details are added to enhance the design. A stencil was used to create the Aperture logo accurately. Electronic components are required for functionality. Three millimeter blue LEDs provide lighting. Seven by seven push/push switches control functions. CR1220 batteries power the device. Wire is used for connectivity and circuitry.
