Portal - Companion Cube

Portal - Companion Cube

I built this Companion Cube using Autodesk Inventor to learn its capabilities. Mostly, I use Slic3r for 3D printing. Primarily, I made this decoration. You need to scale it up by 2540% for the intended size of 58 x 58 x 58 mm. The bottom part isn't perfect due to supports, but that's okay with me. Supporting bridges might help, though I haven't tried it yet. I printed it all in one piece so I wouldn't have to deal with glue or any other hassle. The sides turned out great at a resolution of 175 microns. My girlfriend will paint the Companion Cube soon, and I'll post more pictures then. I used grey Hatchbox PLA for printing this model.
