It can also be used for distributing, tamping, or just putting your portafilter on standby.The holes are also high enough that the tip of the portafilter is not touching any table surface, But i would recommend adding foam/rubber feet to make it non slip and stable.My prints used PLA because I ran out of PETG but it is recommended to use PETG for higher heat tolerance and Food Safety
