Portada San Juan de Rabanera (San Nicolás)
sketchfab
The church of San Juan de Rabanera in Soria boasts a magnificent entrance, but it is not its own, having been donated instead. In fact, facing the irreversible state of ruin that the church of San Nicolas in the same city of Soria was in, it was decided in 1908 to relocate its portico to the church of San Juan de Rabanera where it now shines. It consists of four smooth archivolts, except for the inner one, which supports on decorated capitals with scenes belonging to the New Testament (the left four) and related to the life of Saint Nicolas (the right four). The tympanum, a very meritorious labor, represents a group of seven figures from which the central one is that of the saint seated in a sedentary position. This portico can be from the early 13th century.
