Ventilator Design, COVID-19 Working Principle Based on Arduino The ventilator's core is controlled by an Arduino. The Stepper motor is programmed to manage oxygen pumping into a lung during inspiration. Two variables - speed and volume - are defined. Five angles are set for the Stepper Motor, each corresponding to a specific amount of oxygen pumped into the lung. The Arduino also controls the rate at which a bag is pressed. A relationship between the Stepper motor's angle and air/oxygen volume is established using the Arduino. This allows for precise control over the volume of air and oxygen delivered. An electric valve (4-20 mA) enables regulation of air and oxygen pumping amounts. The device features a pressure gauge (cmH2O), measuring inspiratory, expiratory pressures, and flow rate control.
