Portable Truing Caliper (For Bike Wheels)
thingiverse
I couldn't justify myself to be getting an expensive truing stand to straighten out my wheels so I thought to myself why not create something portable since I have a local 3d printer. So I created this and you hook it onto the seat stay of the back wheel or the fork of the front wheel depending on which wheel you want to true. There is a knob that you can rotate left and right to move the caliper part closer or farther away from the wheel. You get it closer till you hear a noncontinuous sound of the rim rubbing the caliper. You will have to hold the screw part straight while moving the knob to ensure that the caliper does not change positions and make sure that it lines up with the rim. I used Cura as my slicer and an Ender 3 Pro. The holes work with zip ties but I have not tried them with reusable zip ties yet but they should work.
