Portable speaker box enclosure smooth allis
thingiverse
After my JBL Pill (first edition) stopped working, I decided to repurpose the speakers that came with it and turn them into a portable speaker. Since the thing cost me $80 and the speakers were really good, I thought it was worth giving it a try. The box design is mine, but the battery holder is courtesy of anode505, who posted it on December 3, 2013. Thanks to anode505 for saving me a lot of work. The holes in this design fit the diameter of the JBL speakers when installed from inside the housing. To avoid needing support material, the main housing is divided into two parts. Once these parts are printed, they can be joined together with super glue. There are two access panels to reach the amps and batteries, which require drilling holes for screws to hold them in place. I added a hole for base air displacement on the top access panel. I sourced the 5V amp from Amazon, and here's the link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00XAGSZSK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The batteries I'm using are a pair of 18650s that I bought from an e-cigarette store. They're charged externally. This project was made with Tinkercad, and you can edit it online at https://www.tinkercad.com/things/dIcUJA7BB80
