I wanted to build a rugged portable unit for camping and to run FPP for my lighting display. The box requires 12v power, so I connected it to a drill battery. I used a LM2596 to generate the 5v needed by the Raspberry Pi. My parts list includes: Raspberry Pi 3 - available from various sources such as Amazon or Adafruit. Pelican 1150 Case - a durable case that can withstand rough conditions, available on Amazon. Delvcam DELV-HD7 display - a high-quality display that I had lying around. VELCRO Brand Industrial Strength Adhesive Strips - a temporary solution to mount the screen, but I need to come up with something better. Additional parts include: 13mm 4 Pin Waterproof Connector Plug Socket - for connecting power cables LM2596 DC-DC Buck Converter Step Down Module Power Supply Output - used to generate the 5v needed by the Raspberry Pi, available on Amazon. Tiny Screws - hardware store.
