Portable, Modular Vice

When tackling the redesign challenge, I started by asking myself what aspect of my workflow could benefit from improvement. The answer was clear: a versatile vise that adapts to various tasks and materials. The redesigned features of this vise boast quick change jaws and an easily removable table clamp, allowing for seamless adjustments between projects. Need to grip round stock or hold bolts in place? Simply swap out the standard flat jaws with grooved jaws in seconds, eliminating the need for tedious modifications. Want a secure tabletop mounting solution without damaging your surface? Snap in the clamp, and your vise is ready to use in mere moments. As a 3D printing professional, I've encountered numerous challenges in smoothing and preparing parts for display. Holding fragile parts while sanding or filing can be frustrating, not to mention the risk of damaging them. A bulky vice that lacks the right jaws compounds these issues. This compact, modular vise addresses these problems by offering convenience, modularity, and affordability for hobbyists. I've opted for readily available hardware from industrial supply catalogs, including ACME rod, screws, and ball detents.
