Portable Lab Bench Power Supply

Portable Lab Bench Power Supply

thingiverse

A mini lab bench power supply that values compactness and safety. Documentation at https://rgulland.com/blog Ongoing development and source files available at https://github.com/rgulland/Portable-Lab-Bench-Power-Supply I recommend checking there for the most updated files, including BOM & sourcing docs. Assembled unit outputs up to 30V 5A ( digitally adjustable with OVP & OCP) to Banana jacks or XT60 in a <1L form factor. BOM cost is around $100. Assembly takes 1-2 hrs. This is a fork of Kralyn3D's 'DIY Mini Variable Lab Bench Power Supply' that adds a bunch of AC safety features (fuse, AC plug, AC-DC earth, AC cable strain relief) and shrinks the form factor considerably. It's pretty easy to 3D print but there are 3 bridges >30mm that I find are better with supports. Despite having more AC safety features than the original, please don't build this unless you're confident working with mains power and have the materials to do so safely! On initial power on, make sure to set a default power limit of 125-150W & 30.1V on the DSP5005 when using the AC input. Above these limits, the AC-DC converter components will have a shorter life due to high temperatures. Licensed under GPL v3 as a general endorsement of keeping hardware projects open source :)
