Portable folding adjustable Kindle stand (metric version)
thingiverse
I tried several Kindle stands which didn't really quite work for me, because I wanted one I could adjust and carry around. Then I was inspired by the [portable stand](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:448775) designed by [kdpainter](https://www.thingiverse.com/kdpainter/designs), though it didn't quite fit mine. I'm grateful to Kelly for allowing me to create my own version and publish it. I redesigned this from scratch in Fusion 360, to use metric hardware (two M4 screws for the arm pivots and an M6 bolt for the adjustable barrel). I've been using it daily for over two years; it's pretty robust. It's fully parametric, so easy to change the slot size for different models and cases/covers. For convenience I've included a few common sizes of barrel with slots for different Kindle/case models. _Adjustable Stand v12 barrel reoriented.stl_ has a slot width of 17mm which suits my Paperwhite and its cover. It can be used in either left-handed or right-handed orientation, and the tilt angle is adjustable over a wide range. The arms clip into place along the body when folded. It's been so successful that I've been asked for several more by family and friends. So far I've printed almost a dozen, in colours ranging from the dark blue in the picture (my own original) to brilliant orange, and even one in very shiny green Silk PLA. Feel free to contact me if you need a special slot size. I would not recommend making it more than 18mm wide, though.
