Portable Air Conditioner/Heater II
thingiverse
This is another portable air conditioner prototype that leverages an external source of coolant in stark contrast to its predecessor which relied on ice internally. The design incorporates cutouts for 4mm or 6mm diameter copper tubing to be run inside, parallel to the airflow generated by a 120mm fan. This setup allows users to choose any desired coolant source - many would opt for a cooler filled with icy water and a pump. Conversely, one could utilize a hot coolant source like warm water and repurpose this air conditioner as a heater instead. The prototype boasts an integrated handle and a rear standoff counterbalance measuring 40mm, which effectively supports most 120mm-sized fans. On the plus side, this design enables longer operational times contingent upon the chosen coolant source and reduces potential mess. However, it also has a notable drawback - the need for an external coolant source.
