WHAT IS IT? Porta-Leash is THE MOST portable retractable dog leash I have ever seen. It's small enough to clip onto your dog's collar or securely fasten it to your belt, giving you hands-free control. Available on Etsy here: https://etsy.me/2JVUXzj I designed Porta-Leash so that I always have a reliable way to manage my dog. Sometimes I forget his big leash, and a short walk turns into a lengthy one, leaving us needing a leash to comply with the law or avoid annoying others. Porta-Leash is incredibly convenient because we can leave it on our dog's collar all the time and still have the option to control him whenever needed. Its compact design and clip make it perfect for clipping onto your belt, storing in the car glovebox, or carrying in a purse. Key Features: - A 40" coated steel cable and nickel-plated steel encased retractable cord reel provide reliable performance. - Suitable for dogs up to 25 lbs; larger dogs can also use it if they're not prone to strong lunges or tugs. Materials: - Made from PLA or ABS with no support required. - Retractable cord reel: https://amzn.to/2VX62HB Modification and Assembly: *IMPORTANT* You MUST take apart the cord reel, tie a knot in the cable securing it in the spool, and another knot on the end with the keyring. The stock crimps are not strong enough and will get pulled out otherwise! Once you do this, the reel becomes incredibly robust. WARNING: Disassemble the cord reel carefully and avoid letting the spring unwind or it's ruined! I use a dot of superglue to keep the screw from backing out and another dot to secure the clip in place. Notice that I reassemble with the clip positioned at 90 degrees to its normal position, which is better for clipping onto a collar or belt. (See images) Final Assembly is straightforward; simply press the reel into the housing and superglue it in place.
