A gateway of the Montemor-o-Novo Castle Tower, with an associated legend that gives it its name, dating back to the mid-12th century during King D. Sancho I's reign. It protects the Má Hora Portal, also known as the Sun or St. James Portal. Restoration work was carried out on the portal's structures and the adjacent wall and tower in 2001. Classification: MN – National Monument, Decree No. 38147, DG, 1st Series, No. 4 of January 5, 1951 / ZEP / Non-Constructible Zone, DG, 2nd Series, No. 177 of July 28, 1962
