The Porsche Cayenne, produced since 2002 by German manufacturer Porsche, is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV. It commenced North American sales in 2003 and was the first V8-engined vehicle built by the brand since 1995. The Cayenne also marked Porsche's first off-road sports car since its Super and Junior tractors in the '50s, and its first four-door model. Since 2008, all engines have been equipped with direct injection technology. The second-generation Cayenne (Type 92A) was unveiled at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, featuring distinct in-house design, tuning, and production despite sharing its platform, body frame, and doors with Volkswagen Touareg. In 2014, it received a facelift with minor external changes and introduced a new plug-in E-Hybrid version at the Paris Motor Show.
