The Porsche Boxster is a mid-engined roadster produced by Porsche; it was their first vehicle designed as a roadster, with previous convertibles based on hardtop coupes. The initial Boxster (986), launched in late 1996 as a 1997 model, featured a 2.5-litre flat six-cylinder engine. Its design was influenced by Harm Lagaay of "Style Porsche" and helped revive the company's sales after several tough years. The Boxster's layout offers optimal balance, a low center of gravity, and acclaimed handling due to its engine placement ahead of the rear axle. A 3D Studio Max model of the Boxster is available with four resolutions, including a rigged high-resolution version for animation. The model is highly detailed and textured but requires 3DMax software for use. Alternatively, a Wavefront OBJ format version is provided, featuring approximately 82,452 polygons, group information, colorization via an mtl file, and UV mapping with included jpg textures.
