Porsche 911 rear main seal tool
thingiverse
These are three tools designed to ensure a precise fitment of the rear main seal in a Porsche engine known as the 911 (930, 964, and 993). The kit includes a guide that keeps the seal centered by attaching to the crankshaft using original hardware. Two punches are included: one sits flush with the case, while the other is recessed by 1mm, allowing for extra clearance in cases where the crank surface shows excessive wear. To prevent warping and lifting, I have incorporated a cutout at the base of each punch, reducing contact with the print bed. It's recommended to use support, but only lightly fill the recessed area so that the tool can still be used without removing the support. Individual files are available for those who encounter bed constraints. Work is underway on developing versions for the 901 engines and derivatives such as the 9X6 and 9X7.
