The Porsche 911 is a high-performance sports car designed and manufactured by the German automaker Porsche since its inception in 1964. The original model made its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show on September 12, 1963, as a replacement for the iconic Porsche 356. Initially, the prototype was called the "Porsche 901," but a trademark dispute with Peugeot led to a name change, and the vehicle was rebranded as the 911. The concept of building a car that met one's ideal driving experience dates back to Ferry Porsche's vision. As he once said, "At first I went out to look for the car I had dreamed of driving. Since I didn't find it, I decided to build it." This philosophy drove the creation of the 911, which has undergone numerous transformations over the years. Despite undergoing significant changes, many of the original model's features have been preserved. The "all back" configuration, characterized by a rear-mounted engine and rear-wheel drive, remains a defining characteristic of the 911. Additionally, its fastback coupe body style, six-cylinder boxer engine, and interior seating arrangement for two passengers with an option for two more in the rear have become synonymous with the Porsche brand. Throughout its history, the 911 has gone through eight distinct generations, each denoted by a specific project code: 901, 930, 964, 993, 996, 997, 991, and 992. The first generation was launched in 1964, followed by subsequent models in 1974, 1988, 1993, 1998, 2004, 2011, and 2018. A significant milestone was reached in May 2017 when the one-millionth unit of the 911 rolled off the production line.
