The 718 Cayman GT4 boasts a powerful 420-horsepower engine that makes it the most potent version currently available from the 718 Cayman lineup. With a price tag of 110,870 euros, it falls squarely between the costs of a 718 Cayman GTS and a 911 Carrera S. Most sports cars on the market can't compete with the 718 Cayman GT4's unique combination of engine and transmission, largely due to their less conventional design. Among those that do meet similar criteria are a few select models currently for sale, including one that stands out as a particularly worthy alternative: the BMW M2 Competition, equipped with a manual transmission. This BMW is close to the 718 Cayman GT4 in some key areas but falls short in several crucial ways that make the Porsche such a thrilling drive. One notable advantage of the BMW, however, is its significantly lower price tag – around 35,000 euros less than the 718 Cayman GT4. The 718 Cayman GT4 boasts impressive performance figures, including a top speed of 304 km/h and acceleration from zero to 100 km/h in as little as 4.4 seconds. While not quite on par with the 911 Carrera S Coupé's numbers (308 km/h top speed and 3.7 seconds to 100 km/h), it still outperforms the Porsche 718 Cayman GTS (290 km/h top speed and 4.6 seconds). Despite being about 45 kg heavier than its more agile rival, the 718 Cayman GT4 nonetheless tops out faster. Interestingly, its top speed is even greater than that of its predecessor from 2015 – and it's not just 80 kg heavier, but also has the same acceleration times as before.
