Porous plates designed specifically for manhole covers are engineered to allow water to flow in while keeping mosquitoes from flying out. Type 1 measures 143mm in length, 11mm in radius, and 32mm in height. Type 2 has dimensions of 130mm in length, 11mm in radius, and 28mm in height. Type 3 is slightly different with a length of 137mm, an 8mm radius, and a height of 24mm. Currently, the diameter of the hole on these porous plates is set at 3mm, but it needs to be tested whether this size will allow mosquitoes to escape.
