PopSocket Phone Grip (Functional and Easily Printable)
cults3d
This fully functional PopSocket is designed to be attached to the back of a mobile phone or tablet, providing a more secure handle. It measures almost identical in size to those found on Amazon, such as the one shown here: https://amzn.to/2Dq201l. The design lends itself well to printing, with all the necessary pieces fitting together seamlessly into a telescoping shape. A simple application of super glue to the top and bottom plate ensures that they stay in place and don't come apart. For this project, I opted for carbon fiber infused filament, but any type of filament should work equally as well. According to Cura stats, the total print cost comes out to be less than $1.00, a significant savings compared to purchasing a PopSocket on Amazon, which can range from $7.00 to $10.00. The final two images show cross-sections of the telescoping design in action, demonstrating how it works effectively.
