Japanese erasers and keychains have remained popular among kids for years, particularly as they adorn backpacks. I find these items, especially the erasers, to be exceptional 3D learning tools. By disassembling them, children can explore basic 3D shapes that are ideal for modeling on a computer and later 3D printed as treasured keepsakes from their initial modeling class. Joinery is an essential skill for young inventors to master; thus, I appreciate designs featuring multiple pieces that are intriguing whether assembled or disassembled into printed components. These objects, along with others shared on Thingiverse, provide valuable practice for anyone studying 3D modeling. Bob Krause, Inventor Studios, Berkeley, CA.
