Mount the emitter vertically to allow water to drain out and prevent debris and insects from entering the drainage system. The emitter pops up when flowing water is present, then drops back down once the water flow stops. This design is specifically tailored for use with 1/2" schedule 40 PVC pipe. The emitter is printed in two parts: a screw-on top and a threaded adapter that can be permanently cemented to a PVC pipe. PVC Pipe Schedule 40 ½ inch specifications include an outside diameter of 21.5mm and an inside diameter of 16mm. To assemble the emitter, use Oatey 30821 All Purpose Cement (8oz) along with cement primer, Purple (8-oz). This emitter was used in my Solar Powered Submersed Sump Pump project, which can be found on Thingiverse at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3121422.
