POP SODA - Lime & Mint

Pop Soda - Lime & MintRefreshing soda wrapped in rings of lime zest. The bottle fully expresses its contents, thanks to the printing technology it is possible to transform the peel into a label and see the sparkling soda and the mint leaves inside it.Since images are more powerful than words, look at the gallery to see all the steps of the creative process flow! Before seeing the introduction video for this contest I had never heard of such advanced 3D printing technology, I think the same is can be said for many in the product design environment. I was amazed by the process and shared the video with many people I thought could be interested in a this revolutionary technology. In fact they were all blown away by the printing of the cup, the effects and the liquid inside too! Also for me it was the first time I’ve seen a printer recreating different materials and effects, content, container, and even the label design on top of it.There are no other 3d printing technologies that can achieve such a result by reaching such aesthetic and tactile output in a single process.Riding the wave of enthusiasm aroused by this discovery, I decided to collect all the information and participate in the contest. The process of making the Pop Soda bottle with Keyshot was very smooth and intuitive:after choosing bottle, and draw down some ideas, transforming the sketch into a 3D print file was very simple and fast. The program’s user-friendly interface allowed me to play with the lines, evaluate various options and effects. I could easily transfer the exact features I had chosen to finally create the bottle I had in mind (even with some touch ups!).I’m looking forward to use Keyshot and this printing technology in the future to propose projects to my clients.Being able to transfer an idea so faithfully into a 3d model, allows me to present the client with a prototype that is extremely close to the final product in a single printing process.I believe this can be a great advantage over my competitors, making my design proposals more interesting and appealing.Presenting an highly detailed idea with this kind of 3D printing is extremely effective, having the chance to touch a model with all the features of the product, exactly as it will be on the shelves, immediately captures the customer and overcomes any communication barrier. This kind of workflow has an extremely positive impact on product development, if you can hold the object in your hands everything becomes very clear:it makes it possible to immediately identify strengths and weaknesses, the customer has the most complete vision possible and is in a position to give that kind of feedback that hugely reduces the number of attempts to get to the final version of the project. So far, both my clients and I have been using sintering, stereolithography and additive manufacturing printing technology for 3D models. As a freelancer, I am not aware of the companies’ plans to purchase new 3d printers, but I feel it would be an added value for me to inform my clients of the existence of this technology.I would suggest to those with whom I have ongoing collaborations to purchase this 3d printer because of the improvements that can be made to the workflow in terms of time savings and optimization of the decision-making process.I’m very excited to submit my own version of the Pop Soda bottle designed with the collaboration of an artist friend of mine, Nina, and I look forward to seeing the interpretation of the other participants as well.GOOD LUCK EVERYONE! Any feedback is welcome ;)
