Pop Socket

Awesome 3D-printable pop socket that prints in place without supports, but rafts are optional and I didn't use them. I did apply Magigoo to ensure adhesion to my glass print surface though. Printing with 90% infill ensures the screw doesn't break. Either PLA or PETG should work fine since those were the materials I used. The most challenging part of the print is assembly. I highly recommend attempting to screw the pop socket onto the base before doing anything else to the print. Initially, the individual pieces are slightly frozen together, which allows you to screw them together without them spinning separately. Then you can gently wiggle the pieces so they separate and telescope out. It may take several times opening and closing to get the pieces to slide well, but I left tight tolerances to ensure it still works after the tolerances loosen with age. Finally, apply some good double-sided tape to the base to stick to your phone - I simply bought whatever they had at Lowes. If you love soccer as much as I do, comment below! Update 12/14/18: I made some minor changes to the models that should help retention flanges not wear out as fast from repeated opening and closing of the pop socket. Update 12/21/18: I just uploaded an updated file called "Pop Socket Round." It's definitely the best one, but it has to be printed at 0.1 mm layer heights. Update 1/28/19: I just uploaded a file called "Pop Socket Round Blank Tall." It's a better fit for larger hands and is less likely to collapse when using it to prop up your phone on a table. It's also the one I prefer with my Pixel phone case. The files labeled "short" are lower profile by 1mm when collapsed.
