Pop Box

Create a pop-up polyhedron with rubber bands! This 3D structure folds flat then pops into shape when released, featuring fully parametric design and filament hinges for versatile use. Watch it in action here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1775688/popbox.m4v. For more hinge variations, check out http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:266956. To make your own Pop Box, you'll need two small rubber bands and 1.8mm filament for hinge pins. Print all six faces, ensuring a tight fit for the filament inside the hinges. Adjust the thickness and hinge size as needed. Compile popbox.scad in OpenSCAD and export as STL. Assemble the top and bottom rows with filament, then connect them at the middle triangle, leaving 4mm of filament sticking out for rubber band anchors. Attach rubber bands diagonally across the Pop Box for the final touch.
