<h2>And this is my "Poor man Z Probe"</h2> I started this as a joke and was surprised by the precision achieved with very simple materials. File "Body1" is for Anycubic Kossel printers. File "Body2" comes with two holes, allowing you to adapt it to your needs. <h4>Pay attention: I'm not responsible if you crash your printer with this device.</h4> I recommend trying correct working with a multimeter first and sending the M119 command to your printer afterwards. Another important thing is that this device works with normally closed contacts, so when the probe touches the bed, the circuit will be open. Configure your printer firmware to manage this. This is a very simple design for making a Z probe. All you need are: <ul> <li>Two M3 screws, 20mm long</li> <li>Three M3 nuts</li> <li>200mm of rigid wire</li> <li>A pen compression spring (to be cut to obtain the right compression force)</li> </ul> And some patience to assemble all things. Once you've checked its correct working and tuned the right Z-offset, it will work well forever. <a target="_blank" href="https://youtu.be/lscRhbx48Zc">See probe in action.</a> In my printer, I achieved a good precision of near 0.1 mm (also my printer's precision).
