Poor Man's Spool Holder
thingiverse
I desperately needed a simple and hassle-free spool holder for my CR-10 after relocating the control box under the printer with some 3D printed legs (there are designs on thingiverse that look far more impressive than the one I'm using, like this one! https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2332197). Rather than printing a frame and spindle, and since I didn't have any ball bearings, I designed a base where the spool holder that came with the CR-10 could be attached.\r\n\r\nI utilized two M3 bolts and nuts, but other sizes might work equally well. Just make sure to use actual nuts instead of counting on threading into the plastic itself as the spool holder needs to support, usually, a substantial kilogram. Or an even heavier one. Your choice of filament here.
