Poor Man's Spool Holder
thingiverse
Changeable width, thrifty spool holder solution. I didn't have any spare bearings handy, so I came up with this affordable alternative. To make it work, you'll need 1/4 inch OD tubing. Mine's actually airline tubing, but you might already have some lying around from installing a water filter or you can pick it up for roughly $0.39 USD per foot at an auto parts store or hardware store. You won't need more than 3 inches and 9 sixteenths of it. Requirements: * 4 #8 screws that are about 20mm long * 4 #8 nuts * 4 pieces of 1/4 inch tubing cut to around 12mm or less Cut the tubing to fit loosely in the slots, grease it with some teflon spray or household lubricant and install the screws. You might choose to skip the two bars for support; they're not strictly necessary, but I include them to prevent the rollers from toppling over due to my clumsiness.
