Pool Vaccuum Hose Adapter
thingiverse
I needed to vacuum the bottom of my small BestWay 10 ft round 30 in deep pool. I tried two different battery-operated vacuums (one was $100, and the other was $200) and they both kind of sucked and I have no idea how often I would need to replace the five D-cell batteries required to run them. I wanted to use my pool's pump and filter like larger pools do but the hoses had no place to attach and were far from the right size to join on to the existing hoses or direct to the pump. I also wanted something that wouldn't risk losing water from my pool as I connected the vacuum. I made this. To connect it, I removed one of the two in-pool debris catchers and inserted this with the pool hose attached to the other side of it. It worked right off the bat, but the suction was a little weak when coming through the 20-foot hose and vacuum attachment. So I removed the other debris catcher and inserted one of the included plugs that came with the pool in case you didn't wish to connect the pump. The suction power increased, and I was able to vacuum my pool, so I decided to share it here. The twenty-foot pool hose cost $30, and the vacuum attachment cost $30, and it works better than the two battery-operated vacuums I tried. I didn't need to empty it four times to clean the pool once.
