Pool Leaf skimmer V2
thingiverse
Connected to the outlet pipe of your swimming pool, a clever venturi effect takes hold, actively sucking surface debris through a nozzle and into a handy bag for easy cleanup. To get started, you'll need a 39mm diameter hose that fits neatly into both the pool outlet and the nozzle, as well as a sturdy bag - much like an orange - to catch stray leaves. Fortunately, Version 1 performs extremely well, making this design an exciting improvement over its predecessors. A notable change from the original is the removal of the float as a funnel, a modification that proved difficult to achieve due to printing issues. Instead, a versatile 600ml plastic bottle serves admirably as a flotation device. Another wise alteration was made to the pipe arms, which had a tendency to break easily. To rectify this issue, a more durable solution - using 4mm shafts from dowel sticks available at most local hardware stores - has been implemented.
