Pool Leaf Skimmer

Pool Leaf Skimmer

Connected to the outlet pipe of your swimming pool, a venturi effect is employed to suck surface debris through the nozzle and into a collection bag. To install this setup, you will need a 39mm diameter hose attached to your pool's outlet pipe and securely inserted into the nozzle; in addition, a bag will be necessary to catch the accumulated leaves. An orange-colored plastic bag should suffice. As an untested product apart from a preliminary trial in my own swimming pool. Update: I am pleased to report that it has been working in my pool for a few days without issue, except for one minor problem - a curious weaver bird pulled its nest apart, dumping the entire structure into the water. Fortunately, most of it was caught by my leaf skimmer, confirming that this invention works effectively. To verify my statement, I have attached a few photos taken at different times - first when it was newly installed and later when debris had already accumulated in the bag. I've successfully tested this system for several weeks now, with consistently impressive results. After analyzing its performance and functionality, I have identified areas where improvement is necessary. To optimize these changes, I have incorporated my findings from 3D printing experience, focusing on maximizing each feature's strength. A second-generation version, or V2, will be released as a new project shortly.
